Welcome to Toronto-Danforth

Map of Toronto-Danforth

The riding of Toronto–Danforth is a culturally and economically vibrant community. Its neighbourhoods include Greektown, East York, Leslieville, Little India, Chinatown East, Port Lands, Riverdale and more.

Toronto-Danforth has been represented federally in the House of Commons since 1979 (initially as the old Broadview-Grenwood riding until 2000). Notably, it was the riding former NDP and opposition leader Jack Layton represented from 2004 until his tragic death in 2011.

Provincially, Toronto-Danforth has been represented at Queen's Park since 1999, when it was created from the old Riverdale, York East and Beaches-Woodbine ridigns to reflect federal boundaries.

Today, the riding is represented provincially by MPP Peter Tabuns, the interm leader of the ONDP.

Municipally, Toronto-Danforth is served by Ward 14 City Councillor Paula Fletcher. Sara Ehrhardt is the TDSB School Trustee-Elect and will assume the role on November 15. She'll be replacing Jennifer Story, who after eight years of dedication and success as our public school trustee, decided not to run for re-election in the 2022 municipal election.
